Q. What does the word Petrichor mean?
A. Petrichor (noun)
1. Petrichor (/ˈpɛtrɪkɔːr/) is the earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil. The word is constructed from Greek petra (πέτρα), “rock”, or petros (πέτρος), “stone”; and īchōr (ἰχώρ), the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods in Greek definition of petrichor
2. a distinctive, earthy, usually pleasant odor that is associated with rainfall especially when following a warm, dry period and that arises from a combination of volatile plant oils and geosmin released from the soil into the air and by ozone carried by downdrafts
Q. What is Petrichor Therapeutics?
A. Petrichor Therapeutics is a treatment system that combines Manual Therapy, Therapeutic Exercise, Nutrition and Mental health coaching. Our treatments are customized to meet each client’s needs with focused emphasis on correcting the underlying issue not just the symptom, to achieve optimal wellness; by combining these modalities you get a naturally corrective treatment system that allows the body to heal and find balance.
Q. Why was Petrichor used as a name for a Therapeutics system?
A. Because the Therapeutics system was created here in southern Arizona and inspired by the smell, power and beauty of the desert during a monsoon rain; also, it’s a cool word and everyone should add it to their vocabulary! (Note: this is not the cat urine smell after a rain in the city, you need to be in the rural desert to smell and appreciate it ).
Q. Do I need to be Vaccinated to receive treatments?
A. NO YOU DO NOT, we do not discriminate against any one for their personal medical choices. everyone has the right to their health freedom and your vaccine status is your private choice! NOTE: our therapist may or may not be Vaccinated we do not require disclosure nor will we disclose to the public our staffs Vaccine status, if you do not feel comfortable with our right to privacy, respectfully please see alternative care elsewhere. www.americasfrontlinedoctors.org
Q. Do I need to wear a mask and will my Therapist wear a mask?
A. Depends, if you are feeling under the weather, we suggest that you reschedule or wear a mask at our facility, if your Immune compromised and are living with someone who is then it is suggested as a precaution to wear one, let our staff know of your Immune susceptibility and our therapists will be more than happy to wear a mask to limit exposure. if everyone is asymptomatic, we will not wear a mask for covid or variants. prolonged use of mask are unhealthy and spread bacteria and other pathogens. Q. What to expect at time of appointment?
A. The first step for new clients is to fill out an intake and informed consent form, this provides us with some health history, why you are seeking treatment and consent allowing us to provide treatment. Note: depending if you’re seeking just one modality or a few combined for your needs, we will then proceed to perform assessments and design a treatment program specially formulated for you.
Q. What Should I wear at time of appointment?
A. if you’re coming in for a single modality, a few combined or for the full Petrichor therapeutics system it will depend. you will need to wear loose fitting clothing or gym clothing if you are coming in for corrective exercise or facilitated stretching. For Manual Therapy/ Orthopedic Clinical Rehab /Medical Massage Treatments you will undress to your comfort level and covered with a sheet during the treatment. your modesty will be protected so getting fully disrobed is best to get the most out of the treatment session. if you’re coming in for just Nutritional guidance or Mental Health Coaching then you may wear whatever you want. just be comfortable.
Q. Do you Take Medical insurance?
A. Depending on your insurance provider they may allow you to be reimbursed for treatments with copy of receipt and S.O.A.P Note. you need to talk to your insurance provider to determine what your plan covers, if they do, we will happily provide you with S.O.A.P notes with codes for billing. additionally, if this is an Auto accident clam your insurance or Legal team may allow you to be compensated for any and all treatments you receive for your Auto injury clam, once again check with your provider(s). if you have HSA / FSA we take that aswell.
Q. What forms of payment is acceptable?
A. We take all forms of credit cards, debit cards, FSA/HSA Cards, pre-paid cards, gift cards, cash, Zelle, gold and silver bullion bars and rounds, Crypto Bitcoin, Ethereum.
