Various Modalities that may be used during Treatment
Below is a list of Auxiliary Modalities that may be integrated in a treatment session. you may ask about these services at time of appointment the Therapist will discuss with you if they are appropriate in treating your condition. These devices are used at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE when utilized during a Myotherapy session. We may utilize Therapeutic Ultrasound, Magnet cupping, Gua Sha, Hydrotherapy, KT/ Rock Taping, Redlight Therapy, E-Stim, VT or other auxiliary modality.

Hydrotherapy
What is Hydrotherapy Therapy? In general, Hot and Cold therapy utilizes various types of devices to apply temperature changes in soft tissue resulting in vasal constriction or dilation for treating injuries.

Therapeutic Ultrasound
Therapeutic Ultrasound is used to penetrate through the skin to affect the underlying tissues by way of soundwaves this is always used in conjunction soft tissue manipulation. your practitioner will determine utilizing this device during your treatment session.

Redlight Therapy
Redlight Therapy is used to penetrate through the skin to affect the underlying tissues by way of High intensity spectrum light; this is always used in conjunction soft tissue manipulation. your practitioner will determine utilizing this device during your treatment session.

Cupping (MFD)
Myofascial decompression (MFD), more commonly referred to a Cupping, is a traditional therapy that has been adapted to the field of Sports Medicine. cupping is used to promote healing and blood flow to an injured area. Cupping can eliminate pain, mechanical deficiencies caused by restricted soft tissue, Treat myofascial strains and soft tissue restrictions unrelated to injury.

Gua Sha
Gua Sha breaks down scar and connective tissue, improving movement in the joints, can also benefit the immune system and reduce inflammation. Sometimes, used to treat a cold, fever, or problems with the lungs. This modality produces microtrauma to the body creating a response that may help to break up scar tissue. Gua Sha may also help with fibrosis, which is a buildup of too much connective tissue when the body heals.

Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology tape is often used to help facilitate muscle function, stabilize joints, or keep muscles from contracting improperly. It can also be used to help decrease pain, swelling, and muscle spasms, is also used to realign joint positions, and it may also be useful in remodeling collagen tissues such as in scar tissue management.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)
(TENS) is a method of pain relief involving the use of a mild electrical impulses that are delivered to the affected area of your body via pads taped directly to your skin, you will feel a tingling sensation; this treatment is used to manage short- and long-term pain through muscle contractions. The contraction of the muscle also promotes blood flow to the area helping the injury heal and decrease muscular spasms by tiring out the muscle that is in spasm. This allows it to relax. The intensity will be adjusted to block the pain signals traveling from your body to your brain and may also stimulate the production of endorphins.

Interferential Therapy (IFT)
Interferential therapy (IFT)
is used to decrease pain, relieve muscle spasms, and improve blood flow to various muscles or tissues. This modality typically uses four electrodes in a crisscross pattern. This causes the currents running between the electrodes to “interfere” with one another allowing the use of higher-intensity current. the application of electrical impulses may feel a bit uncomfortable, but it should never hurt. NOTE: If this is used to improve muscular strength or function, you may be required to squeeze or contract your muscle as the machine is working-(Active engagement)

Non-needle Vibrational Acupuncture (VT)
is a non-invasive, non-pharmacological pain-free treatment that can improve circulation and relieve pain. The therapy is extremely gentle, it can be an excellent option for individuals who are, elderly, weak, or frail patients. VT provides anabolic mechanical signals to bone and soft tissue delivering low-intensity stimuli at certain frequencies promoting the release of Nitric oxide which helps to reduce inflammation relieving joint and muscle pain.
